  • Visit Santa Fe in the company of Houston Grand Opera patrons

Join us July 10-15, 2013 for a week in Santa Fe, New Mexico as we explore the historic city that embraces art, culture, relaxation, and the breathtaking Santa Fe Opera. Best of all, you will travel with patrons of Houston Grand Opera!

The trip features five nights accommodation at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa, on the square in Santa Fe; spectacular dinners at private Santa Fe homes; and three Santa Fe Opera performances including The Marriage of Figaro, The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein featuring Susan Graham, and La Donna del Lago featuring Joyce DiDonato.

You will be happy to know that structure only goes so far. There will be plenty of personal time to relax or otherwise enjoy everything Santa Fe has to offer.

    Santa Fe Opera

Since 1957, The Santa Fe Opera has been the summer oasis for internationally-acclaimed operatic talent and opera enthusiasts. Enjoy three operas during your stay and mingle at private VIP parties.

The Marriage of Figaro - July 10
The Marriage of Figaro is of endless appeal to audiences and scholars alike. It is psychologically insightful and politically daring, yet affirmative in its transcendent depiction of redemptive love - and filled with beautiful music.

The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein - July 12
Opera enthusiasts can't wait to see the ebullient mezzo-soprano Susan Graham in the title role of Jacques Offenbach's hilarious The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein. Far from being "a lady of a certain age," this Grand Duchess is a sexy, spoiled aristocrat with an eye for Fritz, a cadet at the local military academy.

La Donna del Lago - July 13
La Donna del Lago is Rossini's most romantic masterpiece. Why is it so infrequently seen? One reason: the formidable demands of the title role. Fortunately, Santa Fe audiences will see it performed by the fabulous mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato - who has earned acclaim for it in world opera capitals including Milan and Paris.
