Dr. Mark and Mary D'Andrea have been Houston Grand Opera donors and subscribers for eight years. During that time they have been attending HGO Special Events, including Opening Night, Concert of Arias, and the Opera Ball, and Mary has served as a member of the Special Events Committee. Mark and Mary recently became Patrons and Mary has joined the HGO Board of Trustees. This year the D'Andreas will be co-chairing the wine auction for the annual Opera Ball.

In addition to HGO, Mark and Mary support many other organizations around Houston, including the Virtuosi Society of Houston where Mark serves on the board; Main Street Theater, for which Mary serves on the board; the Hermann Park Conservancy; the March of Dimes; and several other charities. Mark has been the president of the southeast branch of the Harris County Medical Society and serves as the director of radiation oncology at the Gulf Coast Cancer Center. He is a board certified radiation oncologist who holds several patents and has published many scientific articles.

Mark is originally from the Midwest, but Mary is a fourth-generation Houstonian and a fifth-generation Texan. Mary and Mark enjoy traveling with their children, and are fixtures at a variety of Houston's social events. They have been married thirteen years and have three children-a son and two daughters.
