About the Artist: Daniel Rigazzi is a director of theater and opera. Recent productions include The Magic Flute (Ash Lawn Opera), The Tales of Hoffmann (Wolf Trap Opera), Noye's Fludde (St. Bartholomew's Church, New York City), The Rape of Lucretia (Pittsburgh Opera), and a triple bill for Bard College's graduate vocal arts program, which included premieres of works by Missy Mazzoli and David T. Little, along with Ravel's L'Enfant et les sortilèges. He was the recipient of the 2009 Boris Sagal Fellowship at the Williamstown Theatre Festival where he directed the workshop premiere of Golden Gate, a musical by Christopher Dimond and Michael Kooman. He is on the directing staff of the Metropolitan Opera, is an alumnus of the Drama League Directors Project, and a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.
