About the Artist: Mika Shigematsu recently sang the role of the Chinese Woman in The Santa Fe Opera's world premiere of Paul Moravec's The Letter. She made her debuts with San Francisco Opera and Colorado Opera as Angelina in Rossini's Cinderella. At New York City Opera she sang Teodata in Flavio and Suzuki in Madame Butterfly, the role in which she made her HGO debut in 2004. Other engagements include Rosina in The Barber of Seville with Minnesota Opera; Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro with Seattle Opera; Charlotte in Werther, Elvira in I puritani, Rosina, and Suzuki with the Boston Lyric Opera; Romeo inThe Capulets and the Montagues with the TROS Radio in the Netherlands; Charlotte with the Teatro Carlo Felice; and Suzuki at Opera de Lyon, Montpellier and in London.
